To establish a VPN Tunnel between Android Tablet and a Netgear Router you need the APP “NCP VPN Client”.

With built in “IPSec Xauth PSK” it is not possible to connect to Netgear FVS338. Here are the screenshots of client and host settings.

Client Settings (App): Use “IKE Config Mode” and “Split Tunneling”. Connect to the subnet of the remote host, e.g. 172.16.5.0/24

Host Settings (Router): Use “Mode Config” and enter a record name with a pool of virtual assigned IP addresses.

IKE Policy: use aggressive mode, enter the mode config record name, use 3DES, SHA-1, Group2;

Local WAN IP is the fixed IP of your router or DDNS;

FullyQualifiedDomainName (FQDN) is a string like subdomain.domain.tld
